The Mantanani Islands are a group of three isolated islands located northwest of Kota Belud, about an hour’s drive from Sabah’s state capital, Kota Kinabalu. These islands are roughly a 55-minute speedboat ride from the Kuala Abai Jetty on the mainland.
One of the primary reasons Mantanani Islands is popular with both locals and visitors is because of its gorgeous landscape, fresh breezes, and tranquil setting.
A lot of species of rays, such as the blue spotted ray and the marbled sting ray, flit around among enormous schools of fish. Aside from that, muck diving is fantastic, with the presence of imperial shrimps, jaw fish ribbon eels, seahorses, pink-eyed gobbles, and the jaw-dropping blue ringed octopus, among other nudibranch.
