For first-timers, an Introductory Dive, also known as a “Discover Dive,” is the best option – it’s a chance to get wet, experience the sensation, and perhaps see some marine life, all while being closely monitored by an instructor.
A Discover Scuba Diving session does not qualify you for future use. It is a one-time experience to ascertain whether you enjoy the sensation or whether your schedule precludes anything longer than one day. To participate in a “Introductory Dive,” you must still be capable of performing a few basic skills and reviewing a few essential concepts. The dive begins with a dry briefing on board a vessel or near a swimming pool.
Please bear in mind that this certificate is not a certification and will not bestow any benefits on you the next time you dive – it is only a remembrance of one of the most unforgettable experiences of your life. You must finish a Learn to Dive course in order to receive a nationally recognised certification.
